The first part of this book talks about why Jaycee Dugard wrote this book, what happened in her everyday life..etc. It starts off talking about how she got up one to go to school and had to walk. Thats when she got kidnapped. A man and his wife took her to an unknown location. She was super scared. He took her out and made her stay in a room with covered windows. -

29-58. She is still locked up in the room,she is also handcuffed so she cant move around. She tells stories to herself and cries every night because she is really lonely. The man that kidnapped her is also named Phillip. He only comes in to bring her food. Eventually he comes in to rape her and he starts doing this almost every day. -

59-96. Phillip eventually moved Jaycee into a new room thats bigger. Phillip has a wife named Nancy that is introduced to Jaycee because Nancy is jealous of her. Nancy works at an old folks home and she slowly gets to know Jaycee. When it came time to Jaycee's birthday her amazing present was Nancy's new highlights which was terrible. When Christmas comes she eventually gets a nintendo to play games on so she isnt bored. bored. She has her baby named angel. -

97-118 Jaycee is pregnant. Nancy andPhillip found out because Jaycee was walking funny and gained a lot of weight. They took her cat away and gave her a dog named China. Jaycee could feel her baby inside and started to love it. Her new room was yellow and was going to have two seperate rooms. Phillip told her they needed to leave the house. Jaycee has her baby named A. They went back home still living in the room they had before. -

119-146. At seventeen Jaycee was pregnant again. Her room is beginning to look like a room with a bed and a fridge and a working toilet. Jaycee got a guinea pig named happy. She had her second baby named S. She had to raise the girls in the backyard. -

147-165 Nancy quit her job to stay at home with the kids. Phillip got diagnosed with a lot of things and is now on meds. Phillip didnt like the kids calling Jaycee mom so they made them call her sister and nancy mom. Jaycee had to rename herself Alissa. Nancy starts taking "Alissa" places with her. The nighbors huskies started coming in their backyard along with some cats. -

165-196 These chapters were all about her different journal entries and what each one was about and how they had to be kept a seceret. -

197-220 Phillip had to have a parol officer visit him constantly because he hurts women. Eventually Phillip got arrested. Everyone in the house had to go to the parol office. Jaycee told the truth about everything. Jaycee got to see er mom sister and aunt for the first time again. -

221-242 Jaycee is back to normal life now and everything is different because she is older and she is very happy she got to see her family andis trying to adjust to normal life again. -

243-268. This book concludes by Jaycee meeting with nancy again to end closure for them. She talks about how bad phillip is and tries to keep healing everyday because she will never forget what happened.
