Emily gave china painting lessons until the kids stopped wanting to paint. They had her loving her life and taking care of herself. But then everything goes down hill when they dont want the lessons anymore.

Emily's father was a big part of her life. They were really close to each other and took care of each other. Early in Emily's life her father passes away from natural causes, leaving her all alone living by herself.

Homer Barron comes into Emily's town for work issues. While he is there he meets Emily and they star liking each other, They start hanging out and having a thing.

When Colonel sartoris saw all the things that Emily was going through he tried to make everything a bit easier for her. Although he knew that he could not be able to bring back her father, he made a decision. He remitted her taxes and that helped her out alot more.

Emily's come into town after they were called into town by one of the towns ladies. The towns lady was so worried about her and when she saw that nobody was going to help Emily then she decided to help her herself by calling her cousins.

Emily's sweetheart deserts her for 3 weeks while her cousins are in town. He leaves because her cousins make him feel uncomfortable. Everybody thought he was leaving for good.

Homer Barron comes back into town once her cousins leave. Him and Emily start going out again and everything starts going good. Until, everything starts going better again.

When Homer Barron came into town for the 2nd time he goes and visits Emily. After that he never comes out and everybody wonders why. Emily leaves her house to buy rat poison.

A smell began developing that came from her house and everybody was complaining about it. They tried to find a solution for that problem and they do.

Everybody was complaining about a smell that was coming from Emily's house. So 4 men crossed Miss Emilys lawn and opened the cellar door and sprinkled lime there and in all the outbuildings to try and get rid of the bad smell. That took the smell away for a little bit but not forever.

The new generation does not agree with Colonel Sartoris remitting her taxes. So they make an attempt at trying to make her pay her taxes again even thought she would never open the letters that they would send her. They try many things to get her to pay them

The Board of Aldermen went to her house to charge her for her taxes. She continuously tells them that Colonel Sartoris remitted her taxes. After a while she vanquishes them from her house.

Emily passes away from natural causes, her death makes the whole town sad. Even though all they would do was talk bad about her and they would always be worried about her but they would never asked her if she ever needed anything.

A couple months after Emily's death, the town decided to go through Emily's house so they can see what she had in there and why she never came out. When they were searching her house, they found Homer Barrons corpse lying in Emily's bed. That is when they realized that Emily was crazy, Just like one of her aunts.
