A journey through plurilingualism

  • I was born

    . I was born and raised in Moca, Puerto Rico.
    I was raised in an era without satellite or cable television, internet, and with a little or any access to books or magazines written in English.
  • Begining of my school life

    I learned English in Puerto Rico at Publics school.
  • My family and I

    My cousins arrived from New York. They decided to spent their vacations at my house. The worst thing for me, they don't speak spanish.
  • I like English

    I went to a Summer Camp with my cousins. It was a special Summer camp for English learners.
  • Neuyoricans; My best friends

    I went to high School. Some of my best friends were ala particpiants of the Proyecto Cultural Bilingüe. They were named "gringos" or "neuyoricans".
  • High School Graduation

    Itook the advanced level English course.
  • University life

    Attending classes in English, others classes in Spanish but texts written in English.
  • French classes

    I took my first clas in french. I learned some french.
  • Studying Romanic Languages

    After studiying french I had to take two clases of latin.
  • Finally graduated

    I got a B.A. in Spanish Language and literature
  • Now it is time for Italy

    I meet Laura, my italian girlfriend. I started to read and speak a little italian. But, not for too much time, My italian romance ends two month later.
  • Bilingual me?

    I’ got an Elementary English teacher cerification from the Pontifical Catholic University in Mayaguez Campus,
  • Bilingual Teacher

    Started teaching Spanish language and Literature at Regional Bilingual School Sergio Ramírez de Arellano in Añasco, Puerto Rico to students attending 7, 8 and 9 grades.
  • European expedition

    During Summer 2005 I started a Master degree in Hispanic Language and Culture at Salamanca University in Spain. There I had a roommate from Portugal, so he tried to teacho me som portuguese.
  • I'm not a bilingual teacher

    I had to enroll for an Bilingual Teacher Certification at Interamerican University in San Juan.
  • Bilingual teacher certification again?

    I started again to study for bilingual teacher certification for the second time. Hope to finish it now.
