    The Declaration of Independence
    The Declaration of Independence declares its independence from Britian. Thomas Jefferson was the original writter. In it there are all of the reasons why they wanted to break away from Britian.
  • Signing of the U.S. Constitution

    Signing of the U.S. Constitution
    The U.S. Constitution is the second atempt to formal government. It includes the Bill Of Rights, and allows for the adapting times for more improved amendments to be added. It was aproved, and signed at the Constitutional Convention.

    Trail of Tears

    President Andrew Jackson signed the Indian Removeal Act in 1830. Which forced the Cherokee to move from their home lands. During their travel about 3,500 Indians died.

    California Gold Rush

    The California gold rush started when a man named John Sutter first discovered gold. After that happened many people moved west in search of gold. Most of them were young men without a care in the world. While the men were in search of gold they set the west coast reputation.
  • Gettysburg Address

    Gettysburg Address
    The Gettysburg Address was given after the battle of Gettysburg. Lincoln's speech was very short and to the point. The whole point of the speech was to motivate to North into finishing the war. Once the speech was given, the North was ready to put an end to the war.
  • Lincoln's Assassination

    Lincoln's Assassination
    Abraham Lincoln was at Ford's Theater the night he got shot. He was enjoying a play with his wife, an army officer, and his wife. During the play John Wilkes Booth came up right behind Lincoln and shot him. He was taken across the street and died a few hours later. The death of Lincoln made a huge impact. All of his plans for reconstruction went away the moment he did.

    Battle of Little Big Horn

    The Battle of Little Big Horn was the last war the Native Americans won. George Custer led the American troops in this battle. This event is so critical to American history, because non of the American soldiers survived. Also, there are no historical documents from the battle. The only histroical document from the battle is a painting from one of the Native American leaders Kicking Bear.

    Chinese Exclusion Act
    The Chinese Exclusion Act was passed on May 6, 1882. It banned Chinese from immigrating to the United States. This was in effect for ten years. The act was passed in ecconimic fears, like jobs and land.

    World War II

    World War || made a major impact in the 20th century. Many technology items were invented. Durning this time many allies between countries were formed. For example after the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, the U.S. declared war on Japan. Since Nazi Germany was a close alliance with Japan they helped out. Later declaring war on the U.S. as well as Italy, Romania and other countries within the European alliance. Finally everything ended on September 2, 1945.

    Apollo 11 Landing on The Moon
    Neil Armstrong, Michael Collins, and Edwin Aldrin were three men on the rocketship. They first took off on July 16, 1969, but didn't get to the moon until July 20, 1969. Armstong, and Aldrin were the first men on the moon. This event has helped NASA earn more money because after the people saw this they found interest in it.

    My family of five includes my older sister (16), my old brother (14), and my two parents. As an 8th grader I have devolped many interest. For example throughout my whole life I have been active in soccer until last year. In 7th grade I pick up the volleyball. Also, over the years I have enjoyed watching and cheering on my family's favorite sports teams. Lastly, I love spending time with my family and friends in my free time.
  • Terrorist Attack

    Terrorist Attack
    Hundered people died on September 11, 2001 from two hijacted planes that hit the World Trade Center. The terroist didn't stop there, they also flew a plane into a side of the Pentagon. The passengers on another plane that was hijacted learned what was going on. They came together and took down the plane. All of them died, no one knows for sure the target for the fourth plane. People believe the target was the White House in Washington, D.C.
  • Passage of the 1964 Civil Rights Act

    Passage of the 1964 Civil Rights Act
    The Civil Rights Act ended segregation between the blacks and whites. President Lyndon B. Johnson signed the Civil Acts Rights of 1964.
