A Zebra like creature who doesn't have stripes on it's behind. It used to rome Africa in numbers. Only photographed once at the London zoo shown left.

The most common bird of the time. Died becuase of hunting. Only found in conservevatories. Also known as wild pigeons, found in large migratory flocks.

Laughing Owl

Found in New Zealand, and also known as the white-faced owl died because of the cat's introduction. Was also found in abundance in the late 19th century.

Barbary Lion

Also known as the atlas lion, native to Africa. It ways between 440 to 600 pounds. Considered heaviest lion species. Extinct in wild. Died of over hunting and the depleation of forests.

Paradise Parrot

A colorful, meduim sized bird. Died due to over hunting, land clearing, and overgrazing. Virtually became extinct in 1915. Found in Wales.

Tasmanian Wolf

The Tasmanian Wolf a native to Tasmainia is also known as the Tasmanian tiger. Died due to the introduction of dogs, people hunting them and human encroachment.

Also known as the Laysan Crake, a tiny bird that inhabitated the small Hawaii islands. Introduction of rabbits, and WWll wiped them off the planet. In 1910 their were 2000 birds on the island.

Also known as the West Indian Seal, native to the Gulf of Mexico. Can grow up to 3.5 meters and can weigh 440 pounds. Last spotted in 1952 in the Caribbean islands.

Also known as the middle eastern ostrich, in the early 20th century, sighting them were rare. Extiction triggered by the introduction of firearms.

Guam Flying Fox

Hunted to extinction. A fruit bat, native to the islands of marinas. Consired a delicacy, it wss extensivly hunted. WWII and Brown tree snakes also killed them.

Round Island Burrowing Boa

Also known as Bolyeria, was a native of the round island in Mauritius. Had a small habitat ranging 1.5 to 2 square km. Topsoil erosion and over eating animals killed them off.

Golden Toad
