The start of the story, we learn his personality and that he never was tough, he just acted like it. He goes home and finds out that he is going to be unwound -

She is at a concert and she is playing the Piano. As she plays she slips up and misses a few notes. She starts crying but her teacher tells her she was good. But she is called to the office -

Lev 1
He is having a Tithing party(Getting tithed is volunteering to be unwound) and he invited everyone he knows. When his mother was making a toast, his brother started yelling and getting mad at her because she was the one who decided to have Lev be a tithe. He wa also drunk and left. -

Connor 2
He starts heading out to leave the city and it is about to be sunrise. He finds a diner and there are cops there so he jumps in a truckers sleeping cabin. The truck driver finds him and explains that his arm is from an unwind and he agrees to take him North until he goes another way -

Risa 2
She goes to her dorm and has to pack up before leaving for the bus.She is called into the superintendent's office which has two other people in there. They explain that they need new spots for more people and that she is going to be unwound. They say that music is a very competitive class. She packs up and gets on the bus to the harvest camp -

Lev 2
He is eating his breakfast and then leaves for the unwinding. He is talking to his pastor and wonders what will come next
