    The french and indian war happened in 1754-1763 and is a major part of the seven years war. the war was faught due to rising tensions between the natives and french traders. the natives had 2,200 warriors fighting with 7,900 british militia members against 42,000 regulars. The war was primarily fought in the british colonies from virginia to nova scotia.

    Proclamation line
    The proclomation line was issued by King George the third to stop colonists from settiling west of the appalachin mountains. any colonist settiling west of this line was arrested and could be fined or sent to prision.
  • 1st quartering act

    1st quartering act
    The 1st quartering act was where parlament made it so people that had inns and such had to house british soldiers. they also had to feed these soldiers. the quartering act only "failed" at one time when 7,000 british soldiers came over and were refused housing they all had to stay on there ships
  • Sugar Act

    The sugar act was passed by parlament in 1765 it arrived in a time of economic deoression the tax was inderect but the extra money was still wary in the colonists mind this began the writs of assistance. writs of assitance was when britsh officals had the right to search any ship at any time to try to stop smuggiling

    Stamp Act
    The stamp act was a direct tax on the britsh colonies imposed by parlament. The tax that stated that all printed paper had to be on stamped paper produced in london. The reason for the tax was to help pay for the british soldiers being stationed in the colonies. The king felt the coloniest's were the primary benfeciaries of the british soldiers prescence and that they should help pay for some of the cost.

    the declartory acts were in repeal to the stamp act. the declaratory acts basicly stated in the words of Mr. Duran; it told the government in the colonies that any law they passed didnt have any power until parlament said it did.
  • Townshed acts

    Townshed acts
    The purpose of the townshed act was to raise revenue colonies made to pay for government officals and judges so they would be independent of colonial rule. it also set the precident to the colonies that parlament had the right to tax the colonies whenever it pleased.
