Harding Dies in Office
President Harding dies in a San Fransisco hotel from a stroke. He died before all of his adminastration's scandals had been uncovered. -
Teapot Dome Scandal
A series of scandals from the Harding administration were discovered. The Secretary of the Interior was convicted of leasing oil reserves to public owners. He was sentenced a year in prison. -
The Immigration Act
This act put a limit on how many immigrants could move into the United States. It also gave Officers more power in decideing whom was unfit to enter the country. -
Calvin Coolidge Re-elected
Coolidge wins over the Democrats candidate, John W. Davis. Sadly, Coolidge's son dies of an infection during his campaign for the Presidency. He won with over 2.5 million more votes than Davis. -
Lindbergh Crosses the Atlantic
Charles Lindbergh flew from New York to Paris an unprecedented 3,600 miles. It took him 33 and a half hours and he recieved $25,000 for his feat. -
Television Invented
The first demonstration of the TV was shown to investors in New York. It would eventually change the world. -
Kellogg Briand Pact
This was a treaty designed to prevent war. 14 nations joined immediately and 62 eventually followed. -
Stock Market Crash
On what is known as Black Tuesday, stock plummeted. The economy collapsed soon after and millions lost everything.
