The beginning of school reform began after the spacecraft Sputnik in 1957. It began children going to school at an earlier age, more emphasis on basic skills and creating new curricula. -
The Economic Opportunity Act
made Head Start which provided social and health needs for preschooled disadvantaged kids to help them with school. -
Secondary Education Act
provided assistance for for students who acheived below average grades -
Educate America Act
Set standards nationwide such as safe drug free schools, supporting teacher education and professional development, and encouraging parents to help their student.
