    Joan was born

    Joan was born on the 6th of January 1412. Joan's real name was Jeanne D'Arc. Jehanne is how the French would say and or spell Joan. Joan had one older sister and two older brothers. She also had a little brother, but he came a couple of years later. Joan's mum's name was Iabelle and her dad's name was Jacques. Joan was born while the hundred year war was on.

    A new king in France
    The new king of France is also the king of England too. The new king is Henry the 6th, Henry the 5th son. The new King is a bit to young. He was two years old!!! Until Henry is grown-up, a top English noble will help look after France for him.

    20 year old Charles, was the former king's son. He was a French prince. He was a pretty scared person. He didn't even have the courage to crown himself proerly. With the new king who is still in nappies, it won't be hard for us French to get the throne back.

    Joan is Hearing Voices

    When Joan was 13, she would go int the woods and pray for hours. One day Joan heared a voice. A couple of days later she heard the voice again. Joan thought the voice was from God. God told her to fight in the war. Joan told him "I cannot peform such a job." The voice keep coming back everyday. Sometimes a couple of times a day.

    The Adventure Begins

    “I must be with the king before Easter. God sent me.” Impressed by Joan’s words, the two men perused the captain to take Joan the king. The captain gave in and to be on the safe side he got a priest to check Joan out if she was witch. Joan knelt in front of the priest and asked for his blessing. The captain and the priest were convinced that Joan was not a witch. The captain still did nothing. At last Joan was going to see the King.

    As Joan became more popular in Vaucouleurs, Joan got a nickname. Joan's nickname was "The Maid." The name means a simple and pure unmarried young girl. Joan liked the name and started using the name herself.

    Joan Meets Charles (The King of France)

    After Joan sent her letter to the king, Joan descided to pay the king a visit. Before Joan walked into the room (Where they were supposed to meet) the king had a last minute panic attack and asked one of his survants to be the king of France. As Joan got to the throne, Joan turned to the king and started talking to him.

    Joan's Army

    Joan and her army were moved to a town called Poitiers. While she was there, Joan met a new friend, Duke d'Alencon. D' Alencon taught Joan how to fight. Every night after dinner Joan and d'Alencon would practice riding a horse. Since Joan was making lots of progress, d'Alencon gave Joan a proper fighting horse. Joan got her own suit of armour. Joan's armour included a breast plate and pieces for her horse. Joan had her own priest and survant.

    Saving Orleans

    While Joan was in Orleans, she was treated very well. Soon Joan started fighting in the war one day and she won that bit. Soon Joan made a pediction to her preist. Her prediction was, "I will get shot by an arrow in the cheast, just below my sholder." The next morning Joan asked her preist to stand next to her while fighting the next day. It happend. Joan was on a roll. She was fighting here and there. Soon enough the English give up and Orleans was free at last.

    Crowning at Last (For the King)

    After Joan saved Orleans, she went back to the king to get him crowned. After Joan convinced him to gat crowned, Joan got the king to gat crowned at Rheims. As the king was crowned, Joan was standing by his side. Joan must of been very proud. While Joan was there, she saw her dad and Durand. Joan brust in to tears and hugged them both.

    Caught

    Joan had been caught by the English troops. Joan had been put in a prison. When Joan got caught, every one was arguing about who would get her. Joan did eascape, she jumped. Joan jumped off the balcony that was a least 20m high. Joan did survive.

    Joan gives in

    Joa gave in. Her head was shaved and she was forced to waer men's clothes. Three days later Joan told her juges about her voices from god. Soon Joan was told that she was going to be burnt at the stake. Joan burst into tears.

    Joan's Death

    Joan was on a wooden cart when she was taken to her stake. When Joan got to her stake, she prayed for half an hour. Soon Joan was dragged to the stake and chained. Joan asked if she could have a cross to hold. A man gave her one from two sticks that were lying on the ground. Eventally Joan's hands were tied. The fire was lit. After a few minutes Joan was gone. Joan's ashes were dumped into the Seine River.

    The King did not miss Joan much. After Joan died he made peace with the English. Joan's ashes were dumped into the Seine River. Twenty-five years later after Joan died, her trial was done again. This time they found that Joan was innocent.
    In 1903 the church declared that Joan was a Saint.
