when gorden had died serpine wanted something that would make him very powerful.He had to kill gorden before he could get it.Stefinie gets gordens house and wants to spend the night.Serpine sends one of his to go get the weapon.He knocks on the door and tells stefinie to open up.He brakes in through the window. But skuldugery made him go away. Now she is a part of the other world. -

stefinie rides with skulldugery in the bentlys to go see one of skuldugerys old friend ''china''. Skulldugery tells her to not give china her name beacuse she could do alot of bad things with a name -

After they talk to china they go to the car and sit and talk. Wile they talk the man that broke into the house crashes into them. skulldugery is hurt bad. He tells stefinie to run . The man runs after her.Stefinie gos into a realy dark ally witch you can barly see. She runs past the man and leads him into the canal. she gos in and he gos in after her.She swims fast then looks behind her and sees that he is shreding abart in the canal. -

Skulduggery defeats Serpine, destroying him with the Scepter to protect Stephanie, breaking the Sceptre's power in the process. -
