Sally learns to play the piano
Sally's mother enrolled her in piano lessons when she turned 12. Right away Sally enjoyed learning how to read the musical notes and then performing them on her piano. She excelled in her lessons and became her instructors favorite pupil. In Erikson's fourth stage, industry vs inferiority, Sally's ability to learn the piano gave her a sense of industry and she felt confident enough to try a new sport the next year. -
Sally and Steven get married!
Sally and Steven have been together for two years. They met at a piano bar where Sally worked during college. They fell madly in love and decided to get married. In Erikson's sixth stage, intimacy vs isolation, Sally decided to give intimacy a chance and let Steven get to know her and thus they will share a happy life together. If she had not let Steven get to know her she would have spent her time in isolation. -
Sally opens her piano studio
Sally has decided that she has a lot to give back the community at this point in her life. She has had a successful career and now wishes to pursue a dream of teaching children the joy of piano since it brought her so much joy as a child. In Erikson's seventh stage, generativity vs stagnation, Sally is feeling the need to be generous at this point in her life. If Sally was going to be stagnate she would be focusing on herself still and not concerned with any one else.
