  • Aim of the Party

    It is revealed that the aim of the party is not to just remove loyalties and partnerships between men and women, but to remove all pleasure from any kind of sexual activity.
  • Winston Thinks of His Wife

    Winston begins to remember that it has been about 10-11 years since he's last seen his wife. When he went to touch her she would wince.
  • Katharine

    Winston writes about how his wife wanted to have sex once a week in order to have a child so they wouldn't have to leave each other.
  • Separation

    After many weeks of trying for a baby, there was no luck. Winston and Katharine eventually separated, causing Winston to become extremely upset.
  • The End

    Winston rushes to finish writing down in his diary about the lady he saw in the light. He wrote about how she looked old with very off-putting features, hoping to find some kind of relief, but to no avail.
  • Flashbacks

    Winston begins to have flashbacks as he writes in his diary.
  • Winston's Wife

    As Winston begins remembering his last sexual encounter, he begins to think of his wife, Katharine, who he believes to still be alive and married to.
