    On January 31st, President Harry S. Truman publicly announced that he supported the construction of a Hydrogen bomb. The Hydrogen bomb was hundreds of times more powerful than atomic bomb. The United States had lost its nuclear power over the Soviet Union only 5 months prior to President Truman annoucning his support for the Hydrogen bomb to be made.
  • First Modern Credit Card Introduced

    First Modern Credit Card Introduced
    The first bank credit card was indroduced in 1951 at New York's Franklin National Bank. That credit card could only be used for loan customers and the bank's account holders. Then in 1958, American Express created a purple credit card that could only be used for travel and entertainment purposes. But a year after that in 1959, American Express came out with a credit card made of plastic. All previous credit cards were made of cardboard or celluloid.

She got arrested and fined for it. The boycott began on the day on Rosa Parks hearing in court and lasted 381 days. The U.S Supreme court ruled that the buses were to be integrated. One of the leaders of the boycott, Dr. Martin Luther King was a national leader of American Civil Rights.

Dr. Seuss went on to write a lot of other childrens books. He died on eptember 24, 1991.
