  • Brown vs. Board of education

    The Brown vs. Board of education was a Supreme Court case about segregation in publc schools. In the end segragation in public schools was ruled as unconstitutional.
  • Rosa Parks

    On December 1, 1955 Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat to a white man. At the time this was illegal and Rosa Parks was thrown in jail. Due to this event the Montgomery Bus Boycott began a few days later. (social event)
  • March on Washington

    The March on Washington was an event that changed segregation forever. Martin Luther King Jr. also gave his famous "I have a dream speech"
  • Voting Rights Act

    A bill passed to overcome racial barriers and allowed African Americans to vote freely. (political)
