    Austrian Archduke Franz Ferdinand is assassinated
    He was assassinated by a Serb nationalist. Because of the shooting, Austria-Hungary declares war on Serbia. This is the beginning of WWI.
  • U.S. declares war on Germany

    U.S. declares war on Germany
    After receiving the Zimmerman note, the U.S. declares war on Germany. This brings the U.S. into WWI. Soon the Allied Powers will force Germany to surrender.

    The Bolshevik Revolution in Russia is the beginning of a communist government in Russia. Many commusnists spread throughout the world. The United States has many communist immigrants.

    This treaty oficailly ended the war, but was vary hard on Germany. Because of the harsh ending Germany received, Hitler rises to power and begins WWII. President did not want to punish Germany so severly, but other countries did.

    Throughout the early 1900's many race riots occured. Blacks were gaining more freedom and white people did not like it. Jim Crow laws were still in effect and African Americans were receiving brutal treatment.

    Warren G. Harding is the 29th President. He wins with the largest popular majority in U.S. history. Harding was a corrupt president, who allowed the Teapot Dome Scandal to take place.

    Mussolini was an Italian dictator. He spread Facism throughout Italy. He was known as "Duce". He pushed Italy into the WWII and joined the Axis Powers. Italy's military was small and outdated and was easlily defeated.

    Emperor Hirohito was leader of Japan. He was responsible for the organization of Pearl Harbor. Hirohito was not nice and led Japan into WWII.

    Charles Lindbergh was the first to fly solo in a tranatlantic flight. He was one of the many to set records and make new fsds during the 1920's. Ameilia Eirhart was almost the first woman to fly in a transatlantic flight, but she crashed and was never found.

    Saco & Vanzetti were anarchists that were accused of murdering two men in an armed robbery. The trial was very unfair because the police had nno evidence of them doing so. They were eventually executed. This was an example of how immigrants were treated unfairly during the 1920's.

    After Hitler becomes Chancellor of Germany he forms his group of followers called "Nazis". He uses his Nazis to carry out his plans to ahnihilate the Jews. He begins WWII.

    Oklahoma! was a very popular Broadway musical released in 1943. It was a romance that took place in rural Oklahoma. Many people went to see the production. Over 2,000 performances were conducted.
