George Washington warned the fresh but no action was taken. washington and Indian allies built a fort in Ohio, this land was strategic as it sat between Appalachian mountains. After a few months of this, the Virginians ambushed 10 french men. which started the french Indian War.

The new Sugar Act, which was enacted on April 5, 1764, and went into force on September 29, lowered the charge on foreign molasses from 6 to 3 pence per gallon, maintained high tariffs on foreign refined sugar, and outlawed the importation of any foreign rum.

The Sugar Act imposed a tax on newspapers, almanacs, pamphlets, broadsides, legal documents, dice, and playing cards. The British-issued stamps were used to affix proof of tax payment to parcels or papers. Many colonists voiced their dissatisfaction and took action, such as writing letters about the enraged colonist.

outside the Customs House, there was an argument that became deadly. For the purpose of removing White from the plaza, Captain Preston of the 29th Regiment and eight other Redcoats came. Shots were fired by the Redcoats as the mob surged up against the troops. Five men lost their lives as a result, and many colonists were upset with the British soldiers.
