    Slave revolt in New York City

    an uprising of black slaves in New York City. They killed 9 whites and injured 6 before they were stopped. around 100 blacks were put in jail and around 20 were executed. This infuriated white people and slavery was even harsher, the slave codes were more strict and they were given heavier workloads.

    The Great awakening was a period of revival for religious and spiritual devotion. This movement was to encourage people to observe their religious commitment. People wanted to have a more passionate society to develop a more sincere relationship with god.
  • Stono Rebellion

    Stono Rebellion

    Slave revolt in the southern colonies. This was the largest slave rebellion. Slaves were fed up with their treatment and forced labor, so they decided taking a stand for themselves . They were somewhat successful as there was a school created for slaves to learn ,and their workload was limited.
  • British parliament passes the Naturalization act.

    This act limited access to U.S citizenship to immigrants. The immigrants that came to the united states could only gain U.S citizenship through naturalization. You had to be white and a land owner as well.

    The seven years war (French and Indian War)

    This war was fought by the French and the Great Britain. The French claimed the upper Ohio River Valley as their territory. They also wanted to trade with the Indians and control the area. The Indians disagreed with this as they thought the French cant get everything they want. Britain was also trying to trade with the Indians which caused a dispute and a battle between the French and the Indians.
  • Treaty of Paris of 1763 is signed

    This Treaty ultimately ended the seven year war between Great Britain and France. The treaty caused France to give up all of their territories in mainland North America, and ended any French threats towards the British colonies there.

    British act of parliament that introduced taxes on glass, lead, paint, paper, and tea to fund the British colonies in America.
  • Boston Massacre

    British sent naval and military officials to Boston to enforce the Townshend act. The massacre began with an arguement by he colonists that ultimately led to a riot, and shots were fired by the redcoats injuring and killing a few colonists.

    800 British soldiers quietly crossed the Charles River at night, when they were around 11 miles away Paul Revere and William Dawes mounted their horses and warned all of their soldiers in Lexington to be alert and grab their weapons. After the first shot there were shots everywhere, everyone knew this was the start of a revolution. And next for the British was concord. Less than a mile from Concord The British Redcoats suffered many attacks while retreating. ending with both sides with many dead
