  • The First Poes

    The first poes came to America in 1739 and their ancestors arrivied in NewCastle, Delaware in 1748.
  • Poe's Birth

    Edgar was born at 33 Hollis Street, Boston Massachusetts. His Parents were poverty stricken actors, David and Elizabeth Arnold Poe.
  • Poe goes to school

    Edgar was sent to school at the early age of 4. First to a school owned by a Scotch Dame and another school owned by a man called William Irvine. As a child he was already a very smart and bright child.
  • Edgar Goes Traveling

    The Poe family travels by sailing tro England, Glasgow, and London. Afterwards he was sent to Scotland.
  • Proper School

    In 1816 Edgar was sent back to his father in London. Wanting Edgar to get a good Education they placed him in Boarding School.
  • Love Hurts

    Edgar, now an expert at Poetry became intimate in the home of a schoolmate, Robert Stanard. Mrs. Stanard loved Edgar but when she found out he loved helen she died with grief.
  • The Poet in the Army

    Desperate for a job and money, he did the last hing he could think of, he joined the Army. He was soon Discharged though on April 15, 1829 for bad behavior.
  • Edgar's first Victory

    Edgar competed for a 50$ prize for the best short story and won. This was his first step into fame and fortune.
  • The Bird Squaks Fame

    Edgar's poem The Raven was secretly published and after the public read it Edgar became so famous he never had lost his fame.
  • The Tragedy of Mr. Poe

    Two years after his wifes death Edgar started drinking and slowly lost health. He was found half dead by an admirer and was sent to the Washington ospital were he soon dies.
