    New England Confederation
    Massachusetts Plymouth, Connecticut, and New Haven colonies form the New England Confederation
  • The Board of Trade

    The Board of Trade
    It was set up to handle colonial affairs. The board was made up of royal counselors and other high officials. There were many different roles in the Board of Trade, it had to right to appointment of colonial governors. It wrote laws for the colonies and also sent them to Parliament to review them. It worked with other agencies to enforce the Navigation Acts. The colonist had some say in their own governments.

  • The Iroquois League

    The Iroquois League
    This league was made up of Native Americans and was allied itself with Britain. The League was formed 200 years ago in Up State New York. It had a constitution and council of leaders. It allowed the League to resist European takeover. The Iroquois League saw the Europeans as the enemies.
  • French and Indian War

    French and Indian War
    This war lasted from 1754 to 163, which became part of a much larger war between France and Great Britain called the Sevens Years’ War. The French joined with Native Americans to attack the British in North America. Spain and its colonies were also involved in the war.
  • The Albany Plan of Union

    The Albany Plan of Union
    Ben Franklin created to the Albany Plan of Union to create unity with the other colonies. Each colony would keep its own constitution, while a grand council would take off military issues. The Albany Plan of Union was never approved it was the first steps forward to unite the colonies.
  • Pontiac's Rebellion

    Pontiac's Rebellion
    A rebellion created by, Pontiac an Ottawa chief in what is now Michigan, to drive those from Britain out of North America. He wanted to drive them out because he noticed that the Britain were not as friendly to the Native Americans as the French were. So he put together an alliance of almost all the Native Americans in the Upper Midwest. Hoping that each group overcomes the nearest British fort and then attack the surrounding settlements
  • Treaty of Paris

    Treaty of Paris
    This treaty was signed and ended the Seven Years’ War in Europe and ended the French and Indian War in North America. Britain gain all the French land east of the Mississippi River and parts of Canada. Spain gave up control of Florida to Britain but gave the French ally the Louisiana Territory. That was an early treaty between two monarch and transferred it to the Treaty of Paris. France kept two islands near Canada and took control of some Caribbean islands.

    Proclamation of 1763
    The Proclamation of 1763 set down the rules by drawing a line along the Appalachian Mountains, reserving land on the western side for Native Americans.
  • Jefferson Uses Enlightenment

    Jefferson Uses Enlightenment
    Locke's ideas influenced Thomas Jefferson and Benjamin Franklin, among others. Jefferson used Locke's theories in 1766 when he wrote the Declaration of Independence.
