  • Start to the war

    Start to the war
    The governor of Virginia usherd George Washington with 150 militiamen to secure the Virginian claims of Ohio. These men opened fire on a small French army, thus starting the war.
  • Intercolonial Congress

    Held in Albany, this congress intended to both gain the iroqois indians as allies and to unite the colonies. It failed to unite the colonies, for Britain refused to give up any power and the colonists refused to not have independent power.
  • French Deportation

    French Deportation
    British rulers in Novia Scotia, fearing rebellion, forced 4,000 French from the region.
  • General Braddock's Expedidtion

    General Braddock's Expedidtion
    General Braddock, aided by George Washington, led British and American soldiers into Ohio. Met up with much smaller group of French and Indians and engaged in battle. Bradocks men suffered terrible defeat and he himself was killed. After surrender, George Washington and survivors went back to Virginia.
  • Indian Warpath Widens

    After defeat of General Braddock, Indians stretched out attacks from Pennsylvania to North Carolina. George Washington, leading just 300 men, tried desperately to defend frontier. Hundreds were killed and scalped, coming withing 80 miles of Philedulphia.
  • Full Invasion of Canada

    Britain sent full force to invade Canada. Made very little progress due to poor planning of where to invade.
  • William Pitt's Arrival

    Pitt became the foremost leader in London. Loved by the people and earned the title "Organizer of Victory." Decided to stop invasion of West Indies to concentrate troups on different area.
  • Beginning of William Pitt's American Expedidtion.

    Beginning of William Pitt's American Expedidtion.
    Dominant British leader, William Pitt, dispatched a powerful force against Louisburg in Canada. Conquerd it, causing the first great British victory of the war. Beginning of the end for the French in Canada.
  • Battle of Quebec

    Battle of Quebec
    William Pitt put Officer James Wolfe in charge of invasion of Quebec. During the night, Wolfe sent a detachment of soldiers over a cliff to a poorly guarded position protecting Quebec. In the morning, the two armies faced off, Britain coming out on top. Wolfe was killed during the battle.
  • Fall of Montreal

    Once Montreal fell, French flag was permanently erased from Canada and North America.
  • Peace Settlement at Paris

    Peace Settlement at Paris
    This agreement changed the balance of power in the New world. France was completely whiped from North America, giving land to both Britain and Spain. Spain also gave Florida to Britain as compensation. France was allowed to maintain several Carribean islands.
