    Philip the sixth began the war because he wanted to expand his empire.

    Military

    English forces defeated the French forces and defeated, killed and captured many french nobles and even the french king. The French nobility gloried in chivalry, in battles between equals, and thus gave little thought to simple bowmen. England's nobles were no less chivalrous, but made good use of the common soldier as well.

    They signed a truce, but they could not adhere to ever lasting peace.

    Last battle
    After the last battle, a treaty was created upon the results for peace and ended the war completely. This photo shows them signing the treaty.

    Government

    The battle took a heavy toll on England's internal politics. The throne was shook in Paris during the war by Endland, but failed and ironically helped strenghten the French monarchy.
