  • The Proclomation Act

    The Proclomation Act
    It was the first of a series of acts by the British government that were met with anger and resistance in the colonies.From the British point of view, each act was justified as a proper method for protecting its colonial empire and making the colonies pay their share of costs for sch protection.
  • The Currency Act

    The Currency Act
    Great Britain viewed America was becoming to independent which lead to the American Revolution.
  • The Boston Massacre

    The Boston Massacre
    It was a major turning point for colonists into for their independence from England which there were five deaths and six injuries. It is said the reason the Revolutionary War broke out years later.
  • Boston Tea Party

    Boston Tea Party
    It gave the colonists the courage to stand up for their rights. It was one of the first acts that showed the British the colonists were willing to fight for their rights.
  • The Sugar Act

    The Sugar Act
    In order to prevent bribery and corruption that resulted from not wanting to pay this tariff, the Sugar Act of 1764 was introduced.
  • Intolerable Act

    Intolerable Act
    This act included the closing the Boston Harbor and the take over of all colonies that were caused by England. Also ensured there was no more loss of money.
  • The Tea Act

    It led to the Boston Tea party, British retaliation and eventually Revolution, which in turn led to the founding of the USA.
    Colonists did not not like the idea of taxation without representation, and the tax on tea was a lightning rod for their grievances.
  • The townshend Act

    The townshend Act
    Taxes on glass, paint, oil, lead, paper, and tea were applied with the design of raising money a year for the administration of the colonies.
  • The Declaratory Act

    The Declaratory Act
    Stated that Parliament could take "whatever action they thought fit for the good of the empire." Colonists were so overjoyed at the repeal of the Stamp Act, however, they failed to see the importance of the Declaratory Act.
  • The Stamp Act

    The Stamp Act insured that all the goods coming into, and being sold in the colonies were British in origin.
