  • Japanese Invasion of China

    Japanese Invasion of China
    On July 7th, 1937 Japan invaded China. Japan invaded China because Japan was eager for resources and when Japan saw China's weakness and decided to invade and occupy Manchuria. This caused China to suffer territorial infiltration and Japan using China's Manchurial base. Chinese peasants also suffered the wrath of the Japanese and were brutally suppressed.
  • Rape of Nanking

    Rape of Nanking
    Rape of Nanking was an episode of mass murder and mass rape agsinst the residents of Nanking. This was commited by Japanese troops and this was when the Japanese troops captured Nanking which was the capital of China. The effects were horrible, the Japanese had killed 40,000 - 300,000 Chinese citizens and taking over the capital of China.
  • Germany's Invasion of Poland

    Germany's Invasion of Poland
    The morning after the Gleiwitz Incident, Germany invaded Poland from the north, south, and west. As German forces were advancing deeper into Poland, Poland forces headed out of bases for a better line of defense against the Germans. After the Polish defeat of the Battle of the Bzura, Germans had a huge advantage. Hitler invaded Poland for many reasons, but a main reason could be to overturn the Treaty of Versailles. Impacts on Poland would be soldiers dying and cities being taken over by Nazis.

    Fall of Paris
    During WWII, the Fall of Paris (aka Battle of France) was the invasion of France by Germany. Germany's invasion was successful on France and therefore France now becoming Nazi territory. This was Germany territory until the Normandy Invasion freed France from Nazi power. This effected part of the Allied forces because taking over France killed many of the Allied forces troops.

    Blitzkrieg (aka Lighting War) is a term used for warfare. During the invasion of Poland, journalist adopted this term when Germany invaded Poland because of the technique they used to take it over. This impacted Poland because the Germans technique they used was too powerful for the Polish.

    The Battle of Britain (The Blitz)
    The battle of Britain (aka The Blitz), was a period of time where Nazi Germany stragetically bombed the United Kingdom. This happened because Nazi Germany thought that when they bomb Britain, the British will be so hurt that they will surreneder or hurt their war economy. This only made the UK mad and so because of this impact on British territory, the UK decided to strike back by bombing Berlin the same night. Also Germany bombing London and killing British citizens and destroying homes.
  • Operation Barbarossa

    Operation Barbarossa
    Operation Barbarossa was the secret name for Nazi Germany's plan to invade the Soviet Union in WWII. Hitler wanted to invade the Soviet Union because of his persistant desire to conquer Soviet territory. Hitlers plans all eventually failed due to Soviet counter-offensive. The impacts was Germany invading Soviet territory killing Russians even though Russia wasn't bothering Germans and was staying out of their business, Germans still decided to go against them in the end.
  • Pearl Harbor

    Pearl Harbor
    Pearl Harbor was a suprise bomb attack caused by the Imperial Japanese Navy. This attack was aimed at the United States naval base at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. This was suppose to prevent U.S. Pacific Fleet from going into and messing with the Empire of Japans plans they were making in south-east asia. The impacts were that 2,403 Americans were killed and American military property was destroyed.
  • Wannsee Conference

    Wannsee Conference
    The wannsee conference was the meeting between elders of the Nazi party. This meeting was to ensure that all the government officials were all on the same page of Hitlers plan and to ensure the kidnapping of everyone who is Jewish or isn't of the Nazis liking. This tore many families apart and just the amount of deaths the Nazis made happen was horific and many Germans who did like Hitler, changed and now were going against him, but that is only some of Hitler's followers.

    Battle of Stalingrad
    The Battle of Stalingrad was a battle between Soviet soldiers and Nazis. The point of the battle was for the Nazis to capture Stalingrad. German's decided to attack and try to capture Stalingrad so that they could take out the Russians and it would be a little bit easier to win the war without the Soviet Army. With around 150,000 Germans dead, the Soviet army wins the battle. This effected and humiliated Hitler because which Hitler then got angry and took battle a lot more seriously.
  • Operation Gomorrah

    Operation Gomorrah
    Operation Gomorrah was one of the largest firestorms in WWII. This operation was launched by Royal Air Force and United States Army Forces during WWII killing 42,000 civilians and injuring 37,000 other civilians and Hamburg, Germany. This operation practically destroyed the whole city of Hamburg during the last week of July 1943. This operation effected Germany by rippling a part of Germany and killing a mass amount of civilians. Hitler and Nazi Germany wasn't too fond of this operation.

    Normandy Invasion was the largest seaborne invasion in history during Operation Overlord. This was a plan to go to France and free France from Nazi control and liberate the rest of the country.
  • Liberation of Concentration Camps

    Liberation of Concentration Camps
    The Soviet army was the first to liberate concentration camps and killing centers during the final weeks of war. The first concemtration camp to be liberated was the Majdanek camp in Poland. Then later on liberating other killing centers and concentration camps. This effected the prisoners and finally freedom came to those who were the prisoners in war and every country involved in the war was now seeing Hitlers plans crumble to the ground.
  • Operation Thunderclap

    Operation Thunderclap
    Operation Thunderclap was a cancelled operation during August 1944 planned to have 220,000 casualties and 110,000 killed. Many of the casualties were to be key German personnel. If this plan was to be the launched the effects on Germany were to be crazy. It would've shattered Germany morale and cripple them.
  • Battle of the Buldge

    Battle of the Buldge
    Battle of the Buldge was a German offensive tactic in the forested Ardennes region of Wallonia. The point of the offensive attack was to recapture the harbor of Antwerp. During this offensive campaign, the Germans caught the Allied forces off guard sustaining the highest casualities in any operation during WWII. This operation made so many Allied soldiers die and lost soldiers giving the harbor of Antwerp back to the Nazis.
  • Battle of Iwo-Jima

    Battle of Iwo-Jima
    This battle was a major battle between the US Forces and Japanese Imperial Forces. This battle was intended for US Forces to take over the island of Iwo-Jima from the Imperial Japanese Army. US Forces won the battle, and captured the island and 3 Japanese controlled airfields. This effected the Imperial Army by them losing the battle and losing soldiers along with 3 of their airfields.

    Battle of Okinawa
    Battle of Okinawa (Codename Operation Iceberg) was fought in the Ryukyu Islands of Okinawa. This was the largest assault in the Pacific war in WWII. US Forces planning to use Okinawa as base for air operations. Japan losing 77,166 soldiers and the Allies losing 65,000 in casualities of different kinds. This hurting the Imperial Army of Japan by losing their land and losing their soldiers too.

    VE Day
    VE Day was a public holiday that was celebrated on May 8, 1945. The reason for this was because this was the day that Nazi Germany surrendered marking the end of WWII in Europe. This effecting many people and freeing European countries and holocaust ending.

    Dropping of the atomic bombs (Hiroshima and Nagasaki)
    During the final stages of WWII, the US decided to drop atomic bombs on the cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. This was a very costly invasion of Japanese mainland and this firebomb destroyed Hiroshima and Nagasaki along with other Japanese cities. This effected many civilians killing roughly 266,000 people all together in both cities combined.
  • VJ Day

    VJ Day
    On August 15, 1945 the Japanese decided to surrender and finally ending WWII. This effecting the world by finally ending WWII and no more war and casualtites. This made countries peaceful again and reunited a lot of people and families with soldiers of the war.
