Germany Invades Poland
Germany was able to invade Poland because Hitler signed a Non Agressiong pact with Stalin on August 23, 1939. This meant they would never attack eachother so Hitler had the perfect opportunity to attack Poland without the worry of himself being attacked. -

Japan Surrenders
After the bombing by the United States in Hiroshima the Soviet Forces continued to attack Japan in Manchuria. Soon after the United States yet again dropped another bomb in Nagasaki. Soon Japan can no longer take the defeat as they are using all positions at this time. They soon surrender.
