    German Blietkrieg

    "Blietzkrieg" or lightning war, was a military Germn tactic to create disorganization with the use of weapons such as tanks and bombs. This tactic was succesful during the invasion of Poland, France, the Netherlands, and Belguim. Hitler believed that using this tactic would lead Germany to victory. Due to the German Blietzkrieg, Germany was able to invade nations, which caused more tension among them.

    Germany invades Poland
    A month before the invasion, Germany's leader, Adolf Hitler, and Joseph Stalin, the leader of the Soviet Union had signed a non-aggression pact. Hitler and Stalin agreed to divide Poland between them. Hitler believed that conquering Poland would bring more living space or " Lebensraum" for the German people. This event sparked WWII, which caused tension between nations.

    Barbarossa was the code name for the operation of Germany's invasion of the Soviet Union. In order to complete his mission/goal, Hitler needed to invade and conquer the Soviet Union. This opperation was a turning point in the war, and the Soviets had been in favor.

    Pearl Harbor attack video In this day, hundreads of Japanese airplanes attacked the American Naval base, Pearl Harbor located in the island of Hawaii. The purpose of the attack was to fix Japan's economic issues by taking over its import market. This event led the United States to enter WWII.

    The Nazi German forces launch an attack towards the Soviet Union. The Germans tought it was crucial to conquer Stalingrad, Soviet Union. This battle was a turning point in WWII, the Soviet victory brought humilliation for Hitler.

    D-Day was a turning point of the war for Eastern Europe. The Allied forces invaded Normandy, France, in order to defeat the German Nazi forces. After manny days of battle, and casualties, Germany was defeated. First liberation from Nazi forces in Eastern Europe.

    This battle was Germany's last try to back the Allied forces out of Germany's territory. This is considered the biggest and bloodiest Amrican battle. Even with the bad weather conditions, the Allied forces were able to defeat Nazi German forces. This event was a major part of the war because it was Hitler's last big battle against the Allies.

    Battle of Iwo Jima
    The invasion of Iwo Jima was the plan of the United States to defeat the Axis powers. The United States military felt that capturing Iwo JIma, they would have a better chance of attacking Japan. This battle was key to the Allies because it brought them one step closer to defeting Japanse forces.

    Victory in Europe Day, the day that Germany surrenders to the Allied forces. Hitler and his wife comitt suicide. After the war is over, Germany is desmilitarized and reconstrtucted.

  • Dropping of the atomic bombs

    The United States dropped two atomic bombs in Japan under the order of the president Harry S. Truman. The president decided that dropping the bombs would cause less casualties than a bloody battle. The first one was dropped in Hiroshima. After the first atomic bomb, Japan refused to surrender, thus, the secong bomb was dropped in Nagasaki. This event oficially ended WWII and prevented future wars.

    This is the day when Japan oficially surrenders and the Allies celebrate victory. After the dropping of the atomic bombs, Japan had many casualties. The cities that were bombed were completely destroyed. Japan forces had no choice but to surrender. War OFFICALLY ends.

    The Battle of MIdway
    After Pearl Harbor, the United States was determined to invade Japan. In order to do so, the U.S. milytaly "island hopped" their way to Japan. On their way there, Japan forces and U.S. forces faced and fought the battle of Midway. This was an important visctory of the Allied forces.
