    The original name is Operation Fritz and its a code name for Germany invading the Soviet Union. The operation stemmed from Nazi Germany's idea to conquer the western Soviet Union so that it could be repopulated by Germans. They wanted to use Slavs as a slave-labor force for the Axis war effort, and to seize the oil reserves of the agricultural resources of Soviet territories.

    The Bataan Death March was when the Japanese Army forced American and Filipino prisoners to march 65 miles from Mariveles, on the southern end of the Bataan Peninsula, to San Fernando. Thousands of prisoners had died because of starvation or being beat to death. America avenged its defeat in the Philippines with the invasion of the island of Leyte in October 1944.
