    The Executive Order 9066 was when the United States removed people of Japanese heritage from the western part of the United States. Some of the states were California, Washington, Oregon, and Arizona. Two-thirds of the 110,000 affected were americans.

    The Bataan Death March was the forced march of Americans and Filipino from Bataan Peninsula to Camp O'Donnell. The horrible conditions and harsh treatment of the prisoners during the Bataan Death March resulted in 7,000 to 10,000 deaths. The prisoners were forced to walk 80 miles.

    The allies wanted to lunch large invasions of mainland Europe. This was led by Omar Bradley. The Allies used aircraft to provide cover. 6,600 americans died.

    Soviet troops enter Auschwitz concentrarion camps and freed all the prisoners.The prisoners were liberated by the Nazi's and those who were to ill to travel were left to be shot by the SS but the Soviets and and sent them free.

    On February 23, 1945, during the battle for Iwo Jima, U.S. Marines raised a flag on top Mount Suribachi. It was taken down, and a second flag was raised.

    On August 6, 1945, the United States used a massive, atomic weapon against Hiroshima, Japan. This atomic bomb, the equivalent of 20,000 tons of TNT, hurt the city, killing tens of thousands of civilians.
