    This was also known as the "Lightning war" this was because they were able to attack very fast and also hit very hard, the way that they were able to do this is because they used their tanks, planes and artillery to hit the enemy, such as France very quickly.

    Ribbentrop/Molotov

    This was a treaty between Germany and Russia so that they would not attack each other. They had planned for the treaty to end in 1949. The Nazi's went against this treaty in 1941 when they invaded the Soviet Union with Operation Barbarossa. In this operation they were in pursuit of Lebensraum.

    The fall of Paris

    The fall of Paris, or also known as the Battle of France was when Germany and Italy both invaded France. They used the tactic that is known as the Blitzkrieg, which to put simply is to overwhelm a target but is easily defeated by a well organized enemy. This was also effective against France because they attacked the weak points that France had.

    Pearl Harbour
    Japan surprise attacked the US and they were not kamikaze even though some people think it was, they were actually dive bombers. The attack did not even really succeed because they did not use the battle ships that they had bombed.

    The reason for this conference was to get all of the German commanders on page with what the plan was. The plan being to basically kill all of the Jews in Germany and either make them flee the country or die.

    The Battle of Midway was a battle that occurred in the ocean that was around the middle area between the USA and Japan. The country that started the battle was Japan when they tried to take midway and use it as a base to attack the USA.

    Warsaw Ghetto uprising

    The Warsaw Ghetto uprising was when the Jews in Warszawa refused to surrender to the German commander who was ordering to burn the whole place down. This uprising was largest single revolt by the Jews in WW2. They were not successful but their commander had said, simplified that they were not going to let the Germans pick when and where they died.

    D-Day

    The Normandy invasion, also known as D-Day, or for its codename, Day-Day was the day that the allied stormed the beaches of Normandy France. They overall were very successful because it led to the liberation of France, even though there were heavy losses. There also are many war movies that are based off of the D-Day battles.
  • Liberation of concentration camps

    There was over a thousand of concentration camps. These concentration camps tortured its prisoners, executed prisoners. For example hundreds of thousands of people were killed by "Death marches". These Death Marches were when prisoners were being transferred from one place to another. Sometimes this was in freezing cold and without even shoes on.

    Battle of Iwo Jima

    This battle had two main goals in mind capture the South and Central airfield. This battle was controversial because a retired chief said that capturing the base was nearly pointless. Even after they had captured the area was barely used.

    Battle of Okinawa

    The Battle of Okinawa was a major battle of the Pacific War that was fought on the island of Okinawa. The reason behind this battle was to destroy the last barrier that was preventing the US from outright attacking Japan. The US had succeeded in this battle with the help of Canada, New Zealand and Australia.

    VE day or Victory in Europe day was a day that celebrates the surrender and defeat of the Germans in WW2. Side note, VE day is on the 9th of may in the Soviet Union and Israel because they are ahead in times.
