Germany decided to launch large-scale air raids on Britain. Britain managed to hang on through bomb shelters and the RAF. The RAF forces managed to stave off the Germans long enough to get them to retreat.

Yet another battle between the Americans and Japanese in the Pacific Front. It was a major decisive battle towards the end of the war on an island with a major strategical advantage but nothing more. The Americans won and victory granted them the ability to drop the bombs on Japan.

President Truman had just gotten news that the nuclear weapons were tested and ready. He decided there would be fewer American casualties if he bombed Japan instead of invading it. They bombed Hiroshima and Nagasaki, a few days later Japan surrendered.
