    Annexation of Sudetenland
    The Annexation of Sudetenland greatly impacted the war. Germany took over Sudetenland to expand their land territory and to increase their military forces. This would make the invasion into Czechoslovakia easier for the Germans. The seizure of Sudetenland was to benefit the German's advances into neighboring countries.

    Pearl Harbor
    The Japanese Navy bombed the United States base Pearl Habor on Oahu. The purpose of the Japanese was to wound the pacific fleet as bad as they could. While bombing the Japanese were coming at the US from above the water and below. Constant bombs were going off along with multiple torpedos hitting our ships. This attack resulted in the death of thousands of American Soldiers. You could also say that this was the final straw before we went into the war.

    As a result of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, US President Franklin D. Roosevelt established Executive Order 9066. This executive order made people who were of Japanese descent in the united states go into internment camps. At these camps the people were treated poorly, they were forced to do manual labor and farm work. They were denied healthcare. Many suffered extreme emotional distress.

    Evacuation of the Philippines
    The Japanese invaded the territory of the Philippines. As a consequence of this action, the US was forced to leave the area. MacArthur is famously is quoted as saying, “I shall return.” The Philippines was a crucial place in the Japanese advance to control the Southwest Pacific region. The US did return, just like MacArthur said he would, around two years later.

    This battle showed just how hurtful the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor was. Fought in the water and in the sky, this battle was won by the United States. Japan's idea for The Battle of Midway was to neutralize the US in the war as a naval power. This win resulted in being known as the turning point in the war.

    The battle at Guadalcanal resulted in the ending of all of the Japanese expansion efforts. During land and sea battles, the US launched a surprise attack. This resulted in the taking over of the air area the Japanese were in control over. This caused the Japanese to surrender. The Japanese lost 24,00 soldiers, while the US only lost 1,600.

    The Battle of Stalingrad was a huge victory in World War 2. Germany wanted to have the city of Stalingrad as their own. This battle was a successful stop to the German advance into the Soviet Union. This resulted in a turning point in the European front of the war. The Battle of Stalingrad was one of the deadliest battles history has seen.

    Meeting at Yalta
    The Yalta Conference was a meeting between Franklin D. Roosevelt, Joseph Stalin, and Winston Churchill. This conference was for the Big Three to discuss what would be happening to Germany and the rest of Europe after the war was over. After Germany surrendered, the big three decided to spread the entirety of Germany to different countries. For example, the four countries inc control would be controlled by Britain, the U.S., the Soviet Union, and the last would be controlled by the French.

    On the beaches of Normandy, the allied forces came together to fight against Nazi Germany. This was an important invasion that led to France's liberation, along with the rest of Europe being free from controlling nazi Germany. This well-known battle was fought on the ground and in the air.

    This tactic was used to go against Japan's advances into the Pacific. Island hopping was a strategy of taking over an island and making a military base there. Then that turned into the second point to go to another island. This was a key idea for detouring from other heavily influenced military-centered islands.

    The Fall of Berlin was extremely significant in the ending of the European fleet of World War 2. This important event also brought an end to Hitler’s cruel rule and the end of Nazi Germany. This was the final major battle of World War 2.

    This was the full end to Nazi Germany as we know. Hitler committed suicide right before the Fall of Berlin. Russian soldiers were on their way to Berlin when this happened. Even if Hitler wouldn't have killed himself, the Fall of Berlin still would have happened.

    An experimental atomic bomb building area. In this area, scientists like Oppenheimer and Einstein worked to develop an atomic bomb. This is also where the Manhattan Project was developed and carried out. Los Alamos is where the bomb(Little Boy) that would be dropped on Hiroshima was put together and tested.

    Meeting at Potsdam
    The meeting at Potsdam was to discuss the extreme issue of how to exactly handle Germany after the war. This is again where the Big Three met, they all wanted postwar peace. This resulted in settling matters in Poland and Germany.

    Little Boy was dropped over Hiroshima. This was an experimental atomic bomb that was dropped to try and force Japan to surrender in the war. This bombing was an idea to have the ending of the war be fast.
