  • German Expansion and Annexation of Austria

    Before World War 2, Adolf Hitler annexed Austria, his home country.
  • Signing of the Non-agression Act

    Before World War 2, Germany and the U.S.S.R. signed the non-agression act, which stated that both of them would not fight each other for 10 years
  • Blitzkreig Attack on Poland

    Germany launched a vicious attack on Poland. After a month of withstanding the German attacks, Poland surrendered.
  • Lend-Lease Act

    The Lend-lease Act was proposed in late 1940, but it didn't get signed and approved until march 1941. The Lend-lease Act was a way for the United States Military to provide aid for their allies.

    Major battle in World War 2. Germany and its allies fought against the U.S.S.R. for control of the city of Stalingrad
  • Transition of the U.S. homefront to war production

    The Allies needed war materials and supplies. The United States began producing the materials and sending them to the front lines.
  • D-day

    D-Day is also known as the Normandy Landings. Allies led a huge attack at Normandy in order to free the controlled Europe.
  • Liberation of Madjdanek

    This German concentration camp was liberated by the Soviets. This was the first of many camps to be freed by the Allied powers
  • Battle of the Buldge

    (Dec. 16, 1944-Jan. 25, 1945). Germany launched attacks on the region of Wallonia in France, Belgium, and Luxembourg. This battle happened towards the end of World War 2.
  • Battle of Iwo Jima

    United States Navy vs Japanese Navy, near Japan. The United States Marines captured the Small Island of Iwo Jima. At this battle the iconic photo of marines raising an American flag was depicted.
  • Battle of Okinawa

    Battle fought on the Ryukyu Islands of Okinawa. This was the largest attack in the Pacific World War 2. This battle lasted 82 days.
  • V-E Day

    The day that Europe was in victory, Germany surrendered to the Allies and V-E day marks the German Surrender Acceptance.
  • Bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki

    The United States dropped a bomb on Hiroshima in the means of retaliation on August 6th, 1945. On August 19th, a second bomb was dropped on Nagasaki.
  • V-J Day

    Japan surrendered to the Allies, which ended World War 2. V-J Day also means victory over Japan Day.
