This happened because they wanted more space, and they were trying to expand. They had a treaty that they would not invade any countries because they were the reason that WW1 started so when they did this and broke the treaty, all peace was broken. -
Germany invades France and Captures Paris
My ResourceParisians woke up to the sound of gun fire and a German accented voice telling them that a curfew was in place. The German troops then entered and began to occupy Paris. This happened because The french thought that America would join and help them so they waited to do anything about it. Many Parisians had already fled by thte time that tanks satrted coming into Paris. This ended as Canadians entering the war and going to help in Paris. -
Germany bombed London and Battle of Britain began
The germans bomb London and start a long series of bomb droppings on Britain. On July 10 German bombers struck a British Shipping Convoy. The germans were still trying to expand, and although they had a larger army than Britain, Britain was superior in other areas such as aricraft and had a affective radar system. Although in the first few days of the battle britain had to plea to the government to turn in all aluminum. This lead for them to have a major shortage in aluminum. -
The United States gave Britain war supplies and old naval warships in return for military bases in Bermuda and the Caribbean (Lend Lease).
My Resource This was also known as the lend lease. This was when the U.S. traded war support and such for land/ bases. They had stopped giving Japan supplies and they were very mad. Great Britain and Japan were already not allies so this made things worse considering they were no longer getting supplies from the US. -
The Bombing of Pearl Harbor
My Resources Just before 8 am on December 7, 1941 Japan dropped bombs on the US naval base in Hawaii. The very next day the US declared war on Japan. US entered the war as an allie with Great Britain. The US president gave a speech that said this day would live in Enphamy and he tried to give hope to the people and reassure them it was being taken care of, and they were making the best decision for the entire country -

My Resources The battle of Midway was just 6 months after the attack on pearl harbor. The united states defeated Japan in on of the toughest battles of World War 2. This attack caused permanent damamge on the Japanese Navy. This was considered the turning point of World War 2. After this attack the Japanese wanted to ruin all ships that had not been destroyed in the bombing of pearl harbor. -

My resources The battle of stalingrad was the succesful defense of the city of Stalingrad in the USSR during ww2. Russians consider it to be the greatest battle of the war. This stopped the germans from advancing into the soviet union. This was the turning point for the allies. This was one of the bloodiest wars in history, With over 2 million military and civilian casualties. -

Japan Surrenders
By the summer of 1945 evryone was ready for the defeat of Japan. Their navy and airforce were destroyed. On July 16 there was a new option available to defeat Japan. The us secretly discovered Atomic Bombs. The bombs were dropped in Hiroshima, Japan and Nagasaki, Japan. This caused the Japanes to surrender ending WW2
