    This invasion began when th Kwangtun Army of the Japanese Empire invaded Manchuria. The Japanese were afraid of china due to its huge size so they were going to get rid of them all before they would attack Japan.

    The Holocaust
    The Holocaust was a a genocide causing the death of 6million Jews. This was led by th eNazi regime and by specificly there leader Adolf Hitler. Other non Jewish groups were targeted such as Gypsies, Poles,communists, Soviet POWs, homosexual, and the mentally challenged and disabled. These groups were taken to places called concentration camps. These camps were horrible places where they would gas, experiment, and ultimately kill them. Auschwitz-Birkenau were two of the worst concentration camps
  • Munich Conference

    Munich Conference
    A meeting that discussed Nazi Germany's annexation of parts of Czechoslovakia. A new territory was being designated, Sudetenland was coined. The meeting and agreement was set up in Munich, Germany. The purpose of this meeting was to talk about the future plans of Sudetenland. Adolf Hitler dictator from Germany , Benito Mussolinio dictator from Italy, and Neville Chamberlain prime minister of England, and Edouard Daladier prime minister of France were all present at the conference.

    This treaty is a national document between two or more countries or states. It agrees to avoid war or any conlict with getting your military involved. It was also stated that they must resolve and settle there differences through a peaceful and calm way. This led to the eventual start ups of NATO, SEATO, ANZUS, and the Warsaw Pact.

    The Blitzkreig was the German fighting style of arial attacks from fighter planes that left cities in ruins. It is also translated to the Lightning War. This method was Hitlers style of attack. It was seen as slow and uneffected by the British and often depicted as a snail.

    Adolf Hitler, the leader of the Nazi's siad that his invasion was act of defense, this did not seem believeable to Britain and France. This ultimately started the war with it being declared on Germany. This quest for Poland came to be known as the living space or the Lebensraum to the Germans. This invasion was also known as the September Campaign, Poland Campaign, 1939 Defensive War, or the Fall Weis which means case white in German.

    From July 1940 to September 1940 the German airforce called the Luftwaffe constantly bombed the United Kingdom. There main goals was to gain control over the Royal Air Force and control the skies. Major shipping centers such as Portsmouth, London was also a mojor target. The people of London took refuge from the bombing in bomb shelters and underground subways. Prime Minister Winston Churchhill rose the city of London's spirits from this horrible incident through his encouraging speeches.

    It is also known as An Act To Further Promote The Defense of The United States.. This was an act in which the U.S. would supply Great Britain, the Republic of China France (the part that was free), and later the USSR with materials that would help support there people and troops to survive.

    This was when Germany invaded the Soviet Union in World War 2. Approximtely 4 million soldiers from the Axis Powers invaded the USSR. This is also known as the biggest invasion of war history.Over 600,000 motorizd vehicles and over 625,000 horses were being used for transportation. This operation was named after Francis Barbosa,The German army was pushed back and was brutally beaten by the horrible Russia weather, Russia's size, and there fierce army The Holy Roman Emperor of the medieval times.

    Pearl Harbor is a U.S. naval nase on the island of Oahu, Hawaii. The harbor was very shallow and the ships in it were closely grouped together. This bay also is the home of the United States' Pacific Fleet. The Empire of Japan attacked our troops by suprise in low flying planes. These were called Kamikazes, or suiside flyers. Japan destroyed our ships and killed over 2,500 people died. Quoted by Franklin Delanor Roosevelt that this day will be remembered as a day of infamy.

    This was an important meeting with the Nazi officals and leaders that occured in Berlin. It's purpose was to discuss the Final Solution about the Jewish question. Many important generals and officers of the Nazi group were there to discuss this occassion.

    When the U.S. surrendered and retreated from the Bataan Peninsula in the Philipenes there were about 75,000 American and Filipino troops were abondened and captured. They were forced to walk a gruling 65 mile march to end uo at a labor camp to be killed.

    The Battle of Stalingrad is a major batle of World War 2. Nazi Germnay invaded and fought against the Soviet Union in order to take control over the town of Stalingrad.The attack involved constant Luftwaffe bombing which destroyed much of the city. Through air raids on cuivilians and through close quarters combat, this battle became known as the bloodiest battle in the history of warfare.

    This day is also known as the Normandy Landings . It was thew Western efforts of the Allies to free the mainland and from Nazi rule. Its codenamesfor this mission were Operation Overlord and Operation Neptune. It was an invasion of the German occupied part of Western Europe. This event led to the winning of the French Republic back for the citizens of France. In return they aided us in an allied victory of the war.

    An attack planned by Hitler to capture the harbour of Antwerp. This battle is called many different things, to the Germans it is known as Unternehmen Wacht am Rhein ("Operation Watch on the Rhine"), This attack was a suprise to the Allies and completly caught them off gaurd. Over 200, 000 and 1,000 tanks were sent into battle to fight. The Germans lost and the battle was won by the Allies.

    This is also known as Operation Detachment. It was an important battle in which the United States troops battled for the the control of the Iwo Gima islands from the empire of Japan. Our goal aside from capturing the island was to also take control of its 3 airfields. The U.S. win after a 5 week battle and stand triumphant at the top of the hill with there nations flag raised.

    This battle was fought on the Ryukkyu Islands and was the bloodiest war of the Pacific. This battle was 82 days long and involved the U.S. technique of island hopping. This is the battle when the Allied forces invaded Oknawa and attacked the Japanese. This battle is also known as the typhoon of steel.

    V-E Day
    It is a public Holiday to mark the surrender of Nazi Germany. It was accepted by the Allies and Nazi Germany took out its soldiers and surrenderd there armed forces. The dictator of Germany, Adolf Hitler commited suicide during this time at the Battle of Berlin and Germany's rule was passed to his successor Reichspräsident Karl Dönitz, who announced there surrender.

    In the final stage of World war 2, the U.S. dropped an atomic bomb on the Japenese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The two bombings togethe killed approximitely 130,000 civilians. This remains the only instince when nuclear warfare in used in battle ever and still today. After the first bomb was dropped we wanted to know if Japan would surrender. With no response, we bombed them a second time. After this they finally gave up and signed a treaty of defeat and surrender on the U.S.S. Maine.

    This is the day that Japan had announced its surrender officially ending World War 2. V-J Day stands for Victory Over Japan Day. On September 2,1945 Japan signed there treaty of surrender on the U.S.S. Missouri in there own Tokyo Bay.
  • Warsaw Pact

    Warsaw Pact
    Today known as the Treaty of Freindship, Co-operation, and Mutual Assistance. It was a collective defense treaty among eight communist states of Europe during the Cold War. The Warsaw Pact was in response to the reaction of the Soviet Military's integration to West Germany. This pact was a great aid to the Council for Mutual Economic Assistance.
