  • Battle of Midway

    battle between Japanesse Navy ansd the United States and australia. first Naval battle which neither sides of the batle fired directly upon the other. Japan won because the US lost fleet carier. the engagement ended with no clear winner but both sides were injured majorly
  • Battle of the Atlantic

    This battle was a fight for Bitains survival. The British Liner Athenia was torpedoed by a German U-Boat.
  • Battle of France

    German Invasion of France and the low countries, which ended the Phoney War. German armored units pushed through the Ardennes to cut off and surround the allied units that had advanced into Belgium.
  • Battle of Britain

    This began the German air attacks against the UK during the year of 1940. This battle ran for 3 1/2 weeks. This showed Germany they would have to fight hard to win this war.

It deprived its forces and industry of vital oil supplies. The Japanese Navy mobilized all of its remaining major naval vessels in an attempt to defeat the allied invasion.
