    The Holocaust was the genocide of European Jews conducted by Nazi Germany. From 1941-1945 Germany's collaborators also participated in the killing of Jews. Some six million Jewish people were killed because of the Holocaust which was around two-thirds of the European Jewish population.

    Germany launched an Luftwaffe campaign against Britain that involved bombing and attacking allied cities and fighters. Both sides suffered heavy casualties, but Germany lost the battle overall as the Luftwaffe was heavily weakened. This was the first ever battle only fought in the air.

    Germany launched a large scale invasion of the soviet union during the war over Poland. They mobilized over 3 million troops in order to destroy the soviet union. By the end of the year the German troops reached the outskirts of Moscow.

    Attack on Pearl Harbor

    The Japanese Empire launched a surprise attack on the U. S. port of Pearl Harbor in Hawaii in order to prevent the U. S. naval fleet stationed at Pearl Harbor from interfering in their military operations. This attack led to the U. S. to join the war against the Axis Powers.
