The Germans planned an attack that was codenamed Case Yellow. The Germans passed thorogh the strong french fronteir and the Germans knew that this would threaten the French and British. Although the French had a strong defense border the Germans stiill had success and as a result Germany invaded France. -

Germany invades Poland
Germany attacked Poland in the Fall of 1939. The Germans had a code name for this to keep it a secret. The code name was "Operation White." The operation went well for the Germans, but on the other hand it went back for the Polish. The way that this ened was by Poland surrendering to the Germans and the Germans using the territory. One of the reasons why Germany won was because they were building new tactics and also builing new fighting vehicles to imporeve their defensery system. -
Germnay Invades Soviet Union
The Germans had a codename for the attack of the Soviet Union. The codename was "Barbarossa." This had to been one of the largest millitary opperations that the Germans had. The Germans the Soviet Union and tried to eliminate the Jews from the Soviet Union. -
Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor
Japan suprisingly attacked Pearl Harbor, Hawaii on Dec. 7th, 1941. This attack caused a massive distruction and led for the US into WW2. It also destroyed 188 US aircraft, more than 2,400 Americans were killed, and 1,200 Americans were injured. -
The Battle of Midway
After the Pearl Harbor attack, America deafeated Japan in one of the most massive battles in the war (Battle of Midway). In the BAttle of Midway America destroyed Japan's naval strength because it hit four of its major aircraft carriers. This lead to, Japan's Navy to never recover from what happened in Midway and Japan ended up defensive after this battle. -
The Battle of Guadacanal
Guadacanal was 3000 miles away from Japan. The American forces seize the island and destroyed Japan's supply lines. The island was used a secret American naval base. America lost 7,100 people while Japan lost 31,000 people. -
D-Day
D-Day started on June 6, 1944 and ened on June 30, 1944. D-Day was Operation Overload and it was about the Allied forces trying to liberate the mainland of Europe from the Nazi when the Nazi took the land away in World War 2 and was using that land to take over and do other bad things to other countries that they were trying to invade/take over. The Allied forces had 156,000 troops, 5,000 ships and landing crafts, 50,000 vehicles, and finally 11,000 planes. -
US forces take Iwo Jima
The battle of Iwo Jima took place from Feb 19, 1945 through March 26, 1945. Iwo Jima was a very small island, but it was important to the Japanese beacuse that is where they had some of their airfields. The US forces battle with Japan and the battle. As a result the US force took over the island of Iwo Jima. -
The Fire Bombing of Tokyo
The FireBombing of Tokyo took place from March 9-10 in 1945. The Unoted States warplanes dropped bomb that when exploded would cause a big fire. These bombs injured a million people, left about another million homeless, and completely destroyed the bodies of 100,000 civilians. This must have been a very tragic day for Japan. -
VJ Day 1945
Unconditionally, the Allies were surrendered by Japan, this ened World War 2. From that day on August 14 ans 15 have been both known as "Victoryover Japan Day" or just "V-J day" for short. Until, September 2, 1945 the General from Japan, General Koiso, signed the legal documents stating that Japan has surrendered to the Allies. This is why also September 2nd is also s=celebrated as VJ day. -

The battle of Bulge began on December 16, 1944 and finished on January 25, 1945. Hitler convinced himslef that the alliance with Britian was not strong enough and decided that a defeat would nioot be good. As a result Hitler decided to send a massive attack to the Forces of America
