    On July 7, 1937 the japenese sent a lettere to the Chinese asking to cross the lugou Bridge in order to look for a missing soldier in the town of Wanping. The chinese Military refused so the Japanese got uoset and very early on July 8th 1937 they attacked the bridge which was the only way into Wanping.

These attacks went on for multiple nights so rather than being scared the towns people would travel undergroud and sleep a normal nights rest wake up in the morning and go to work like nothing happened.

    Just before 8 a.m. on December 7, 1941, hundreds of Japanese fighter planes attacked the American naval base at Pearl Harbor near Honolulu, Hawaii. The attack lasted just two hours, but it was devastating: The Japanese managed to destroy nearly 20 American naval vessels, including eight enormous battleships, and more than 300 airplanes. More than 2,000 american soldiers and salors lost their lives and another 1,000 were wounded.
