The Holocaust
During the Holocaust, Jews were victims of a harsh persecution that led to a mass murder of 60,000 Jews. Jews who died were not casualties of the fighting that was going on in Europe during World War II. Japan Attacks Pear Harbor
Japan allied itself with Germany and Italy in September 1940, creating the Axis Powers. On Dec. 7, 1941, Japan attacked the American military base at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. The attack made the United States join the war. By mid-1942, Japanese forces had conquered much of Southeast Asia. Japan had also swept across many islands in the Pacific. -

D-Day

Germany Surrenders
After many attacks from the Allied Forces, Germany has to give up and surrender. The war has not ended, though, because the Allied Forces still have to force Japan to surrender. Although the war is not officially over, many people know that it will end soon because Japan is the only force left to fight against over 50 different countries. -
World War II Ends
After the U.S. president bombed Japan with atomic bombs in two cities, Japan decided to surrender to the U.S.. When the U.S. general Douglas MacArthur accepted this surrender, he formerly-- and officially-- ended World War 2. The big mistake that they had made earlier was to attack the Soviet Union, because towards the end of WW2 the Soviet Union and all the other members of the Allied Forces attcked Germany at the same time. That was abig cause of the downfall.
