    Japanese invasion of China
    The Japanese invasion of China occured when the Japanese claimed the Chinese were firing at them from the Marco Polo Bridge in Bejing. With this as the perfect excuse to take over a weak China, the Japanese sent forth a full-blown invasion into China. The impact for the Chinese was awful. Within only 5 months, more than 1 million people were under the authority of the Japanese along with all the major cities in China.

    Germany's invasion of Poland
    The Germans invasion on Poland all started out early in the morning at 4:45 on September 1st, 1939 when 1.5 million German troops attacked the Polish naval forces and airfields. Adolf Hitler, Nazi leader, claims the attack was defensive and it would bring "living space" for Germans. The effect of this invasion was Britian and France, allies of Poland and fighting countries of a take over, delclairing war on Germany. This announcement also introduced World War II.

    German Blitzkrieg
    The German word, blitzkrieg, means "lightning war" and is a military tactic used to confuse the enemy. This tactic was first tested on Poland but was successfully used in the invasions of Belgium, Netherlands, and France in 1940. With the help of the blitzkrieg, Germany was able to overpower the combined forces of four nations in just under 6 weeks. The foundation of this concept came from World War I and was looked at as a very useful and inspiring technique.

    Operation Barbarossa was Germanys operation of invasion on Russia and their largest city, Moscow. On June 22nd, 1941, Adolf Hitler launched his massive army of 150 divisions, three million German soliders, and three thousand tanks into the Soviet Unions Territories. The outcome of the operation was a failure and a loss of many soliders due to the Great Russian winter. During the winter months in Russia, Germans had no winter clothes and the oil of their weapons and engines of their tanks froze.

    The Attack on Pearl Harbor was a surprise military invasion administered by the Japanese Navy against the U.S naval base at Pearl Harbor.This attack was intended to keep the U.S. from interfering with the Japanese when they planned to attack Great Britain, The Japanese thought they wouldnt have any issues with the U.S after the outcome. The United States had 2403 casualties while the Japanese had only 64. The very next day, Franklin D. Roosevelt declared war on Japan.

    The Wannsee Conference was a meeting within the Berlin suburb of Wannsee where 15 German officals gathered to discuss the answer to "The Final Solution", a code name for the murder of all the Jews of Europe. At this conference, the high-ranking officals had the discussion of how to exterminate 11 million Jewish lives. Germans felt that the Jewish people must be killed becuase they were resposible for the defeat of Germany and many other unproven issues. This led to the outbreak of the holocaust.

    Operation Gomorrah was the raiding of Hamburg, Germany by British bombers who had been raided by Germany earlier that month. With strong forces coming to fight back, Britian dropped 2,300 tons of incendiary bombs on the city of Hanburg and killed 1,500 Germans within a few hours. The outcome of this massive operation was the loss of many German civilians and Hilter shows his side of betrall by his refusall to visit the damaged cities of Germany.Hilter claims the ruins spoke nothing but wars end.

    D-Day was a day when 156,000 American, British, and Canadian forces landed on the 50-miles of Normandys' beach to fight Germany in order to force their way back to the mainland of Europe.Germany had pushed everyone out of the mainland of Europe so the allies of Britain, with extensive planning, decided to land on the shore of Normandy to push their way back in.The Normandy landings of all the allies has been named the beginning of the end of the war.

    Soviets overan belzec, sobibor, and treblinka killing centers. germans shut down all of them in 1943 after almost all of the jews that once lived in poland were killed. soviets liberated Auswitz, the largest killing center and concentration camp.

    Operation Thunderclap was a plan to attack Germany and shatter german morale. The American and British wanted to bomb the eastern most cities of Germany to show how the Nazis had failed their people. This operation was canceled and never put in force because there were many doubts with the operation. This plan was brought back out in 1945 when the RAF planned on attacking Dresden, Germany.

    Adolf Hitler knew that it was going to be a tough fight going against the allies of northwest Europe so he attempted to split them with a surprise blitzkrieg. As the Germans drove deeper into the Ardennes, the allies took the apperance of a large bulge, hence the name. The effect of this battle was the loss of many German men.
