    On this day, Japanese planes attacked the US naval base at Pearl Harbor. Japan was one of the axis powers during WWII. Japan's and the US's relationship begins to deteriorate.

    After the bombing at Pearl Harbor, The US declares war on Japan. The US had tried to stay away from yet another European war but the bombing was their breaking point. Italy and Germany retaliated by declaring war on the US.

    America wins a victory over Japan. The US navy was lead by Admiral Chester Nimitz who led them to win their victory at Midway Island. This was a major turning point for the Pacific War.

    On this day, the Nazi's retreat from North Africa. Instead of attacking Germans head on Winston Churchill convinces the US to join Britain in attacking German territory in North Africa and bring allied forces up Italy. The Nazi's retreated suffering significant loses.

    D-Day was when over 3 million men whom were allies of the war planned to drop enough bombs to take out French rail centers and road networks isolating the normandy of France where the invasion was scheduled to occur. The allies were eventually able to break through German forces after several days of fighting.

    Remaining German forces surrendered unconditionally from the allied powers bringing "V-E day" Victory in Europe.
  • V-J Day

    V-J Day
    Allies held official surrender ceremonies in Tokyo bay while Americans at home celebrated V-J day "Victory in Japan". Before this happened, Japan and the US had been at constant battle, neither ready to stop battle, until imperial Japan surrendered.
  • Nuremberg War Crimes Trials Begin

    Nuremberg War Crimes Trials Begin
    A chosen sight where judges from the allied powers pre-sided over the hearing of 22 major Nazi criminals. Out of these 22, 12 Nazi's were sentenced to death.
