China had some help from Germany when thy were fighting Japan.Japanese forces were diverted to southeast Asia and to the Pacific theatre of WW2. Japan planted abomb in the Marco Polo bridge.China wasnt as developed as Japan so they couldnt repel againts them. The effect that this caused was that Japan withdrew from the League of Nations.This also sparked the begginin of WW2.

Even thought his island is small thye took a long time to take down the Japanese fighters because of of all the mountains.The japanese had built in cavesinside the mountain and tunnels and the marines took some time to find them. This happened in response to what happened at pearl harbor. In the end about 7,000marines and about 21,000 Jaoanese fighting soldiers layed dead.

A series of defense lines across the island, both north and south of the American landing beaches, enabled the Japanese to conduct a fierce defense of Okinawa over many weeks. Bcause of this attack almost 100,000 Japanese civilian and soldiers died.

This turned out to be a very succesful day for the U.S and Great Britain.
