    The war between China and Japan started with the Japanese wanting to cross the Marco Polo bridge in China to get to the village over and search for one of their missing solider, but they were denied entry by China. So the Japanesse bombed the bridge and started sending troops over and China fired back by rallying their troops to fight back. This fued between the wo ended when Japan surrendering to the Allies.

Truman knew that if he tried to invade Japan it would result in a huge casualty of Americans so he approved on dropping the frist atomic bomb on Japan, An American B-29 bomber dropped the first bomb on Hiroshima wipping out 90% of the city and killing 80,000 people. A second bomb was dropped on Nagasaki kiliing 40,000 people. Shortly after Japan's Emperor Hirohito announced the country's surrender in the war.

    News of Japan's surrendering spread around the world sparking celebration. And on this date a formal surrender ceremony took place in Tokyo Bay aboard the USS Missouri. President Truman declared Sept. 2 to be Victory over Japan day or VJ-Day.
