  • German Blitzkrieg

    blitzkrieg also known as lightning war to the development in Germany between 1918 and 1939 of a body of doctrine using mobility to prevent the same deaths as of World War I. Some accounts insist that only Adolf Hitler’s bad interference tipped the war’s balance so far against Germany that even blitzkrieg’s smartest refinements could do no more than to keep the Reich’s from collapsing.The first known use of the word blitzkrieg in publication was in an article in Time magazine on September 25.
  • The holocaust

    the nazi regime lead by Adolf hitler killed murdered over six million Jews. The meaning of holocaust is Greek origin is "sacrifice by fire." This happened mainly due to nazi racism. The effect of this happening was one of the main causes of world war 2. World war 2 had about 60 million deaths.

    on August 23, 1939 the Soviet Union signed a non-aggression pact with Germany. So when Germany invaded Poland in 1939 they broke the non-aggression pact because Poland was one of those territory's.

    Germany's invasion of Poland
    On September 1, 1939 1.5 million Germans invaded Poland and Adolf hitter said that it was a defensive attack. Britain and France were not convinced of what hitter was saying so on September 3 they declared war on Germany which would be the start to world war 2. On hitlers invasion of Poland it would bring living space for the people of Germany.

    auschwitz was also know as Auschwitz-Birkenau. It opened in 1940 and was one of the biggest concentration/ death camps there was. During world war 2 around 1 million Jews lost their lives.

  • Battle of midway

    6 months after the attack of Pearl Harbor, the United States defeated Japan in a very decisive battle of WW2. Due to major advances in code breaking the United States was able to counter Japan's planned ambush, then able to inflict permanent damage on the Japanese Navy.

  • Warsaw ghetto uprising

    Between 1941 and 1943, underground resistance movements formed in about 100 Jewish groups. In the summer of 1942 around 300,000 Jews were deported from Warsaw to treblinka. It started April 19, 1943. In Warsaw Poland the nazis were trying to the city's of the Jewish ghettos are met with gunfire from Jewish resistance fighters.
  • D-Day

    the storming of the beaches of Normandy, the battle began on June 6, 1944, also known as D-Day, when about 156,000 American, British and Canadian forces landed on five beaches along a 50-mile stretch of the heavily fortified coast of France’s Normandy region.   • Liberation of concentrations camps

    the society's were the first to liberate concentration camps. On july 23, 1944 the invaded the majdanek camp in Poland and on January 27, 1945 they invaded auschwitz. They had found hundreds of sick and exhausted prisoners when they did.

  • Battle of the bulge

    Hitler planned on splitting the allied forces in northwest Europe, so he sent in a surprise blitzkrieg. This caught the American troops off guard so they tried desperately to fight the Germans off. The Germans drove deep in the Ardennes in order to secure vital areas, though the allied line took the appearance of a large bulge, which gave the battle it's name. Due to this tactic they were able to neutralize the Germans.

  • Dropping of the Atomic Bombs

    On August 6,1945 an American B-29 bomber dropped the worlds first atomic bomb on Hiroshima, This killed 80,000 people.
