    In response to a Vietcong attack that killed eight Americans, President Johnson unleashed "Operation Rolling Thunder". The operation was the first sustained bombing of North Vietnam.

    In the small village of My Lai in Vietnam, a U.S. platoon searched for Vietcong rebels. After the platoon did not find any rebels they gathered up all the people in the town and shot more than 200 of them.

    Kent State massacre
    After a massive student protest at Kent State University, the local mayor called in the national Guard. The Guards ended up firing live ammunition into a crowd of campus protestors which led to the death of four students.
  • The Fall of Saigon

    The Fall of Saigon
    Several years after U.S. troops left Vietnam and a peace agreement had been agreed to North Vietnamese launched a full-scale invasion against South Vietnam. The North vietnamese ceased Saigon and made Vietnam one united communist state.
