It all sarted with a 25,000 dollar bet. People claimed that racing horse didnt have any feet on the ground. To prove that the horse did they set up an expierment. This experiment included a rapid sequence of photos, This prooved that the hore indeed have all 4 feet on the ground. -

Vauderville was like small theaters that had short dramatic skits, and comedies. To fill in time,they has to stall by playing short shows in between. They later expanded into nickelodeon. -
first U.S. narrative film
An employee of Thomas Edison, Edwin Porter created the first U.S. narrative film called, The Great Train Robbery. Porters film had 14 scenes and lasted 12 minutes, A real epic by the standards of the day. -
Nickelodeon Theaters
They attracted 26 million people each week! That number doubled within 5 years. To insure big bucks they attempted to control everything. -

the early days
Most videos were shot on the east coast, but this quickly changed. A because of lighting and they shot outside and the weather there never cooperated. B because they were far from the MPPA and could retreat to Mexico if needed. -
