The fleet that was being commanded by Verazanno returning from France then sailed to Florida, The Bahamas and finally the Lesser Antilles. He anchored on one of the 3 islands and went ashore only then to be eaten by cannibals. It was said he was killed by cannibals at Guadeloupe.
