    The first federal immigration law and prohibited the entry of immigrants considered as “undesirable”strengthen the ban against “coolie” laborers, by imposing a fine of $2,000 and or one year in prison to anyone who tried to bring a person from China, Japan, or any oriental country.

  • Immigration Act

Anyone who had been convicted of a felony, misdemeanor, or any other crime such as any activity deemed contrary to the beliefs and standards of society such as polygamy were not granted citizenship.
