  • Start of Great awakening

    This is the approximated start of the great awakening which is when the Enlightenment hit the Americas

  • John Edwards gives sermon

    He takes the post of his father, preaching throughout communities. This is one of the key points in the Great awakening because he gives people a different perspective of God saying he cares for what we do and can condemn us to hell if he only loosens his grip.

  • Whitefield's travels

    Whitefield begins travelling across the colonies.

  • "Sinners at the hands of an angry God" Speech

    Exclaims god only needs to listen his grip on us for us to be condemned to eternal hellfire.

  • Church dismissed Edwards

    Edwards wanted to limit church attendees to converts only so he was dismissed

  • Became president of Princeton university

    Edwards became president of what is now Princeton university in a Native settlement
