  • Alien Friends Act

    allowed the President at any time to order any aliens he thought dangerous to be deported. which included suspicion of treason or spying. they could be imprisoned for three years, and never be allowed to become a citizen of the USA if they stayed. The President could also issue a license to such an alien, granting them temporary residency in the USA.
  • Chinese Exclusion Act

    exclude Chinese from migrating to the United States. felt that Chinese laborers were a threat to order in certain localities. stated that for the next ten years the Chinese laborers were suspended from coming into the US. If people were caught bringing Chinese into the country they would be fined five hundred dollars per head that was brought in or imprisoned but not for more then a year.
  • Emergency Quota Law

    temporarily limit the numbers of immigrants to the United States by imposing quotas based on country of birth. Annual allowable quotas for each country of origin were calculated at 3 percent of the total number of foreign-borns from that country recorded in the 1910
  • Real ID Act

    The 9/11 Commission made immigration and document security recommendations after completing their investigation in 2004. national standards for drivers licenses and non-driver identification cards were established; definitions of terrorist organizations and terrorist activity were expanded; criteria for asylum eligibility was modifyed
